Pre-Filtration

The purpose of pre-filtration, is to protect the main system from damage and fouling, due to a build up of sediment, suspended solids and some forms of heavy metals and bacteria. There are many ways to treat a water source for these contaminants, although almost all applications will require individual assesment, hence the importance of a Water Analysis, prior to any project being undertaken. This is especially critical where ground water is the intended feed water source. Accurate feed water analysis will determine exactly what contaminants are present, allowing design engineers to construct the filtration system that is best suited to the conditions.

Most Common Contaminants

  • Suspended Solids
  • Heavy Metals
  • Calcium
  • Bacteria
  • Salt

Desalination and Pre-Filtration Systems

Pre-filtration is one of the most important parts of any Reverse Osmosis or Desalination System. It is absolutely critical, to the long term performance of any installation. Together with a >> Click Here -  Feed Water Analysis, it is the best starting point for any project. Pre-Filtration, or a lack of, may prove to determine whether your installation will continue to provide trouble free service or fail, due to a lack of correct filtration methods. Let's put things into perspective right from the start. If you expect your desalination system to provide years of service, without pre-mature failure, you must ensure that the system is protected with the correct Feed Water Pre-Filtration. More time spent on this part of the project in the early stages, the greater the chances of a long system life.
